Course 5: Research and Data Analysis Capstone Project

The capstone project is a one week course designed to give students an opportunity to share their research projects for peer and instructor review. During this course, students will be asked to explain the process that led to their research design and data analysis.

At the end of this course students will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Their knowledge of the needs assessment process
  • How to assess and state why the research is needed
  • Choose the proper research method
  • Align the research method with the appropriate research design
  • Explain the type of study that will be conducted
  • Identify and discuss issues that lead to a valid study
  • Choose the correct statistical test
  • Choose the correct sampling method
  • Develop a quantitative research instrument

Prerequisite: Completion of the following courses:
Course 1: The Fundamentals of Quantitative Survey Design
Course 2: The Fundamentals of Online Survey Design
Course 3: A Simplified Approach to Statistics and Data Analysis
Course 4: Analyzing and Reporting Survey Results
